The Wilde Nasal Snare, also known as the Bruening or Lange-Wilde Nasal Snare, is a specialized surgical instrument used in otolaryngology for the removal of nasal polyps and hypertrophic tissue. It features a long, slender bayonet-style shaft that keeps the handle offset from the working tip, improving visibility and access inside the nasal cavity.
At the distal end, a fine wire loop is used to encircle and remove the polyp. The loop is tightened via a three-ring handle system, which allows the surgeon to control tension smoothly and precisely. This handle typically includes two finger rings and a thumb ring, providing excellent grip and control during use.
Manufactured from high-grade surgical stainless steel, the Wilde Nasal Snare is fully autoclavable, reusable, and designed for repeated use in both outpatient and surgical settings. Its design allows for clean, controlled polypectomy with minimal bleeding or trauma to surrounding tissues.
