Cut Snare Wires are surgical accessories used with tonsil snares to assist in the precise excision of tonsil tissue during tonsillectomies. These wires are pre-cut to a specific length, typically compatible with standard snare handles such as Eve, Sage, or Nievert snares.
Manufactured from fine, high-grade stainless steel, these wires offer both strength and flexibility. The wire loop is extended through the shaft of the snare instrument, then positioned around the tonsil. Once tightened, it severs and compresses the tissue simultaneously — promoting hemostasis by minimizing bleeding.
Cut snare wires are available in various gauges (commonly 25–28 gauge) and lengths to match different surgical preferences and instrument designs. They are typically supplied sterile (single-use) or non-sterile (for sterilization before use), depending on the manufacturer’s specifications.
